Shining Root Education and Wellness

I'm an American entrepreneur living in Saint Malo, France. I am passionate about helping people reach their goals and navigate a stressful world with more joy and confidence.

For the first 20 years of my professional life, I was an English language teacher in higher education. I have a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and taught in the US, Japan, and Egypt before moving to France in 2025. I'm passionate about helping helping people thrive by building their confidence in English and experiencing new cultures through the interests and activities that bring them joy. For me, those activities are geocaching, travel, being in nature, and energetic wellness. I also speak French, and I love supporting visitors in navigating France and the French language more confidently while getting the most out of their time here.

I am also a certified wellness practitioner. I've trained in Eden Energy Medicine (Eden Method) and Reiki, and also practice equine bodywork. Horses were my first love, and I am excited to get back to having them in my life. My goal is to help people and animals live more harmoniously in a world that consistently challenges their very being in ways we weren't designed for. My focus is on sharing self-care techniques so you can support yourself when your practitioner isn't available or what they are offering you isn't working. Energy work and therapeutic touch are tools I believe can support all beings finding the best version of themselves.
